There are so many brilliant lyricists out there, so many, many, songs that will never be heard. My featured video is of a woman I am a huge fan of, Sara Evans. She is a country singer with a plethora of wonderful songs and lyrics. One of her most popular hits was ‘I could Not Ask for More’ written by Diane Warren. Between the poetry of Ms. Warren and musicality Ms Evans, these two women seem to be a match made in heaven. Here is our offering for the week…I hope you enjoy!
On your knees you look up
Decide you’ve had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand
- Stand – Rascal Flatts
When I look into her eyes,
It’s the way I feel inside,
Like the man I want to be,
She’s all I’ll ever need
- She’s all I Ever Had – Ricky Martin
You have no right to ask me how I feel,
You have no right to speak to me so kind,
We can’t go just holding onto time,
Now that we are living separate lives
- Separate Lives – Phil Collins
With your smile
You pull the deepest secrets from my heart
In all honesty
I’m speechless and I don’t know where to start
- Something About the Way You Look Tonight – Elton John
Everything I know, and anywhere I go,
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love.
And when the last one falls, when it’s all said and done
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love.
- Here Without You – 3 Doors Down
And if along the way, we find that there, it starts to storm
You’ve got the promise of my love to keep you warm
In all the world, you’ll never find, a love as true as mine…
- George Strait
This is one of my favorite Sara Evan’s songs, written by Victoria Banks.
Enjoy!
